1) how Do you supervise caregivers in the home?

AKOTA Home Care goes above and beyond in our hiring efforts. It is our firmest held belief that only the finest, most qualified caregivers should be hired by our company. That is why AKOTA Home Care hires only caregivers who have met our educational standards and passed our 4-point background check. In addition, our Registered Nurse (RN) regularly makes visits to each case every 30-90 days to perform mandated case evaluations. Finally, we have a technology system that alerts us when caregivers are not at an assigned case on-time, and whether they leave early without prior notice.

2) how much do home care services cost?

Home care needs can vary by quite a lot. That is why AKOTA Home Care offers a wide array of services to meet individual needs. Typically, home care falls between $23-$35 per hour, depending on the care needed. Additionally, AKOTA Home Care offers 24-hour care, meaning that a caregiver is placed in the home and is alert and available at all times to take care of the client in their home. AKOTA Home Care also offers a free initial consultation performed by our Registered Nurse (RN) who can discuss with you the needs of the client and find out what services are best for you or a loved one. Contact us to find out more.

3) Is there a minimum number of hours?

Yes. The industry standard is a minimum of 4-hours per day. We typically abide by this standard. You can do any hours above this limit, and in any shape or form you decide is best for you or your loved one. However, depending upon a range of factors, AKOTA Home Care may be able to provide care beneath the the 4-hour daily limit. Our RN can see if you qualify for this on the initial consultation.

4) do I have to make a deposit or future commitment for service?

No. We here at AKOTA Home Care believe that you, the customer, pay only after service has been provided. Therefore, we do not make you pay any upfront payments or deposits. In addition, we do not believe in locking people in to long-term contracts. That means that you can schedule a 4-hour service to take place next Tuesday, without having to fear of signing a long-term lease requiring you to continue to use our service for the next 6 Tuesdays.

5) do you provide any less time consuming home care alternatives?

Yes we do. We allow you to schedule a visit with our RN or Physician to make a "house-call" to come into the home and make sure everything is alright with you or your loved one.

6) is your company available after hours for emergencies?

Yes. We are available 24/7. We have a designated "on-call" person who is available to take your calls after hours and help resolve any issues you may have.

7) we are planning a short stay in your service area, are we INELIGIBLE for service?

Not at all. As long as you are in our service area we will gladly work with you to set up care for your or a loved one coming from out of town.

8) how do you bill for services?

In order to provide you with convenience, we bill on a bi-weekly schedule. You have the option of having your invoice mailed or emailed to you. You can pay for your bill by either sending us a check via mail, providing credit card information within your Service Agreement to set up automatic payments.
