Free Initial Assessment & Home Safety check
Our Registered Nurses are able to come to your loved one's place of residence to conduct a free initial assessment and home safety check. The initial assessment covers anything from discussing future home care needs, to the cost of home care. A home safety check entails the Registered Nurse assessing the place of residence and discussing with those present how safe it is regarding a variety of factors. Both services are completely free. Home Care Management
Oversight of care for a loved one is often difficult. That is where we can help. Our AKOTA team specializes in case management oversight, in which we strive to remain cutting edge on all best practices, national trends, regulations, and new technology that is shaping the home care market. Our case management would allow you to take advantage of the following services;
- Scheduling physical therapy, prescription refills, and doctor appointments
- Screening, arranging and monitoring in-home caregivers
- Referring to specialists in all areas as needed for help and advice.
- Coordinating a move to or from an assisted living, retirement or acute care facility
- Provide counseling, educational materials, advocacy and support
- Recommending and arranging safety upgrades in your loved one's home
Assisted Care
We offer flexible Assisted Care that ranges from 4 hours per day to 24/7 round-the-clock care. Assisted Care is an in-depth type of care that helps seniors with items listed above, such as transportation and personal hygiene care, but also helps with other daily living activities, such as lifting, bathing, cooking, cleaning, light housekeeping, Alzheimer's care and so forth.
REgular REgistered Nurse Visits
To be fully compliant with Colorado State law regarding home care companies, our Registered Nurse will regularly visit with our clients every 30 to 60 days to perform an assessment on the care being provided. This visit will assess the level of care, how the caregiver is doing, and whether or not more (or less) care is needed. In addition, when a client of ours is admitted to the hospital or ER and later discharged, our Registered Nurse will conduct a visit within 24-hours after the discharge to assess and update the client's Plan of Care.
Many other home care companies sadly do not always adhere to Colorado regulations. We take pride in not only meeting such requirements, but exceeding them whenever we can.
Light housekeeping
We make sure that a loved one can keep their house in good order. We do not offer a cleaning service, but our caregivers are more than willing to help clean the house in small ways that allow your loved one to remain in a tidy and clutter-free home.

- Dusting
- Vacuuming
- Sweeping
dementia & Alzheimer's care
Our caregivers are specialized in taking care of patients with dementia and Alzheimer's. Each one of our caregivers has received an extensive amount education in order to better care for a patient who may no longer be able to perform daily functions as well.
Transportation
Transportation is often a challenge. Additionally, many find it hard to find a home care provider that is willing to offer transportation services. We believe at AKOTA Home Care that extending our patient's independence and freedom is vital. This is why we offer transportation services. This transportation can include taking patients to events, performing errands, and even just going out to enjoy a beautiful day at the park.
Food Preparation
We believe that customizing the care of your loved one to meet their deepest needs is important. We collect favorite recipes and other preferences of you and your loved one in order to fit a caregiver to help with cooking some of your favorite meals.
Personal hygiene
Personal hygiene strongly correlates to a person's dignity. We want to make sure that a person never loses their dignity. AKOTA Home Care employees are glad to help with bathing, grooming, and dressing of patients who require this assistance.
Companionship
Sometimes a loved one can be fully functional but still require someone just to be with them. We recognize your busy schedule doesn't allow you to always be around. Therefore, we offer the ability for you to rest assured that your loved one has someone who is there to talk to them and keep them company, even if they don't need the other services listed above.
